Under the Kentucky Labor Cabinet, the Office of Workers' Claims oversees Kentucky's Workers' Compensation Program. This program provides compensation to workers suffering work or job-related injuries and illnesses. The intent of Workers' Compensation is to return income streams to injured workers when their ability to work has been 'severed' by employment-related illness or injury.
Workers' Compensation also seeks to assist injured workers with medical services to help treat and heal the illness or injury, and to provide vocational rehabilitation and training to people whose injuries prevent them from returning to their former jobs.
